About me

Ivanova tries to explain the national deficit.

Hi there. I’m a multimedia journalist (working in words, sound and video) based in Brooklyn. I currently work as a news editor for The Huffington Post. Above you can see me demonstrate my “thinking hard” face.

In 2006, I landed on the East Village couch of a friend who worked at The Indypendent. Some months later, I became the paper’s first culture editor, doubling the size of the culture section and editing several Ippie-award winning pieces.

My work has appeared in or on Mother Jones, City Limits, The New York Times Local, Crain’s New York Business, Gotham Gazette, Voices of New York and elsewhere. I’ve also researched and reported for Wayne Barrett at Newsweek/The Daily Beast, translated for TIME and managed a digital photo lab. Along the way I got a master’s from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.

I have a special love for demystifying and humanizing complex topics, in particular the intersection of economics and daily life.
